Portrait: Lars Hendrik Röller – Chief Economist becomes University President

Lars-Hendrik Röller was chief competition economist to the EU competition commissioner Mario Monti in Brussels, specialising in competition questions and cartel law.

Eighteen months ago, he moved to Berlin where he now works at the European School of Management and Technology on Unter den Linden, a private university combining research and business and founded by 25 major German companies in 2002. Students can work towards their MBAs and managers study while they work. Lars-Hendrik Röller's task is to make the university competitive internationally. Manuela Kasper-Claridge visited him at work.
