Aha! It finally happened! Every streak comes to an end eventually, as Leverkusen just found out. After 24 Bundesliga matches without a defeat, Leverkusen lost for the first time this season, and made the championship race a little more interesting. Suddenly three teams are in the running: Bayern, Schalke and Leverkusen. That's guaranteed to keep things interesting until the final day of play.
Will Leverkusen be Bundesliga runner-up yet again? After drawing against Cologne and suffering its first defeat of the season in Nuremberg, Jupp Heynckes' squad is again showing signs of fading as it heads down the final stretch.
This should be a great matchup. With the exception of Bayern, Schalke and Stuttgart have the best records in the second half of the season. Stuttgart and their coach Christian Gross have taken 23 points and lost just once in their last 10 matches. And Schalke are playing better than ever under coach Felix Magath. How does he do it?
Last weekend Bayern only drew, but still managed to hold on to first place. Without Frank Ribery and Arjen Robben, Bayern were only able to deliver plain fare against Cologne. But the Bavarians still have their magic, as they demonstrated in their Champions League match against Florence.
This isn't the first moment of truth for Berlin, but with just nine games left in the season Hertha really need some wins to avoid relegation.
The rest of the weekend’s matches:
Hanover - Frankfurt
Bochum - Dortmund
M`gladbach - Wolfsburg
Mainz - Cologne
Hoffenheim - Bremen
