Collecting and Sorting – All in a Day’s Work at the Recycling Center
What to do with the worn-out sofa? With leftover paint? With used tires? You take them to the recycling center, of course! Almost every city and every district in Germany has one. Here, private households can turn in unwanted objects that the garbage men won’t pick up. It’s free, but it has to be pre-sorted and in limited quantities. There are strict regulations on separating and re-using trash. We observed an average day at the Hamburg recycling center.
