The multicultural character of many European countries has meant that the number of languages, religions, ethnic and cultural backgrounds found on the continent has increased.
2008 is the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue. European leaders have recognised that intercultural dialogue has an increasingly important role to play and that cultural diversity needs to be fostered. But what exactly does that mean?
In Berlin, the Anti-Racist Intercultural Information Centre has facilitated a month-long programme of discussions throughout November to encourage inter-cultural communication.
