How does architecture impact on our lives? – Author Alain de Botton
One of the great, but often unmentioned causes of both happiness and misery for many of us is the quality of our environment.
Born in 1969, writer Alain de Botton moved to England with his family from Switzerland when he was eight years old. He was educated at Cambridge University, where he read History. He is a frequent contributor to numerous newspapers, journals and magazines, and is a member of the Arts Council of England's literature panel. He has published three novels called : Essays in Love, The Romantic Movement: Sex, Shopping and the Novel and Kiss and Tell.
He is also the author of a number of works of non-fiction, including the titles, How Proust Can Change Your Life, The Consolations of Philosophy and The Art of Travel.
Alain de Botton’s latest book is a further work of non-fiction called The Architecture of Happiness.
