The television screens of the future will be about as thick as cling film. Unbelievable? It's not!
Viewers will be able to roll them up for storage. Developers also say they will require little energy, but be so bright that they'll leave LCD and plasma screens in the shade. Tomorrow Today visits the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research in Golm near Potsdam, where we learn more about developing the OLEDs -- organic light emitting diodes that make it all possible.
